Have you ever noticed when a storm is brewing? You sense it, feel it, and even anticipate it. Storms can be powerful, magnificent, and threatening, but they also offer a chance for the earth to cleanse itself of negative impurities.
When you look up at a the clouds during a storm they tell a ghastly story of turmoil and sometimes destruction, but after awhile, somewhere in the distance there is a break in the clouds where the sun begins to shine through the darkness and it is then that you truly see the light at the end of the very dark tunnel.
Nature can be a fantastic metaphor for your own life. Every so often we have to look within ourselves and cleanse our emotions of issues we have held onto. Much like nature does with storms we must purge out the negativity that is harbored within all of us. For after we have cleansed ourselves can we then find the light at the end of the tunnel.
Next time you see a storm brewing take a few minuets and look up at the clouds, let the rain be an example to cleanse you own emotions.

I have been a sky watcher all of my life. I remember walking down the street with my parents at age four, looking up and singing Twinkle twinkle little star. Lying in the front yard on a summer night looking towards Home until my mom made me come in and get a bath. Playing the game of seeing faces and animals in the cloud formations, well, I still play that one all the time! When my grandson was two years old, I realized he loved the clouds too. He pointed up and said “Nanny, see those clouds? They are pretty but you can’t eat them!” I loved it, those particular formations looked very much like fat marshmallows. Not too long ago, right at sunset he took my camera and started shooting glorious orange clouds that were rolling in as a cold front approached. We must never lose that child like appreciation of the magnificence of Nature.
I love what you wrote Cindy! I love clouds too and have since I was a child. Thanks for reminding us of the dreamy imagination that keeps us grounded yet gives us wings to fly to new places.
I love the story as well as the beautiful cloud pictures. Just as Cindy Aycock said above, “We must never lose that child-like appreciation of the magnificence of Nature”, I couldn’t agree more. The ‘child consciousness’ sees the beauty in the small, simple things of the world, when many times the adult passes it by in a rush to get somewhere, not knowing they are missing so much along the journey. Thank you for reminding us that there has to be some storms to cleanse the soul so that life can flourish.
Natalie, What a beautiful story and photos. You are right on with how we can learn from our surroundings. I am trying to be more aware and I WILL..Thank you…
There are so many things to remind us that we are surrounded by God’s love. A number of years ago one of my uncle’s had died (my Dad’s brother). Later that day I was leaving the office to go home and soft snow flakes were falling and I realized that God is always present; sometimes we just aren’t paying attention. Loved your story, Natalie and those photos are absolutely magnificient! Love you, Rita
